State Climate Change Cell, Mizoram Science, Technology and Innovation Council (MISTIC) Department of Science & Technology DST and Biodiversity & Nature Conservation Network (BIOCONE) organized a seminar on 'Effect of Climate Change on Herpetofauna' which was attended by officials from concerned departments such as Department of Science & Technology, Mizoram Pollution Control Board, Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Professors and researchers from Mizoram Universities, and environment NGOs representatives.
The Seminar was chaired by Dr. RK Lallianzuala, Chief Scientific Officer, DST. The programme was graced by State Planning department Minister Pu Lalsawta as Chief Guest and Dr. C. Vanlalramsanga, Planning Secretary as Guest of Honor. In the inaugural programme, speeches were given by Dr. Vanlalhruaia Pachuau, President BIOCONE, Dr. C Vanlalramsanga Secretary MISTIC, Dr. C Lalhmingliana Adviser BIOCONE, and the Chief Guest Pu Lalsawta.
In this function Pu Lalsawta, Minister released "Mizoram Rul Chanchin" (Snake Book of Mizoram) which was jointly published by BIOCONE and MISTIC.
In the second session, effects of climate change presentations were given by Dr. James L Hrahsel and Dr. Samuel Lalronunga.
