Nest Box Kick Off Programme 2016

With financial grants received from Science and Technology Department, Govt of Mizoram, BIOCONE have placed nest boxes at different sites and monitored for the past 5 years.
 
‘Nest Box Kick Off Programme 2016’ was organized by Directorate of Science and Technology, Government of Mizoram and Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Network (BIOCONE) at Science Centre, Berawtlang. This function was chaired by Dr. HT Lalremsanga, Vice President BIOCONE. In this programme, Dr. Lalrotluanga General Secretary, BIOCONE gave reports of Nest Box projects of the past five years, Dr. RK Lallianthanga, Chief Scientific Officer stated the importance of conserving our environment and Dr C. Lalhmingliana, Senior Advoser BIOCONE mentioned the importance of bird conservation. Several nest boxes were placed in the surrounding area of Science Centre, Berawtlang. In this year, 50 nest boxes are placed at different localities of Aizawl and other towns and villages of Mizoram.
