The Mizoram Science Congress 2016 was a two day event organized by Mizoram Science, Technology and Innovation Council (MISTIC) in association with science NGOs in the state such as Mizoram Science Society (MSS), Mizo Academy of Sciences (MAS), Geological Society of Mizoram (GSM), Science Teacher’s Association of Mizoram (STAM), Mizoram Mathematics Society (MMS), and Biodiversity and Nature Conservation Network (BIOCONE). It was held at Mizoram University campus during 13th to 14th October, 2016.
The Mizoram Science Congress provided a forum for the interaction of researchers, academicians and students from the state and elsewhere to exchange knowledge and share advances in their research findings and development of technologies of relevance especially to the Mizoram state. Provisions were also made for indigenous innovators to promote their works. The two-day event consisted of technical sessions covering theme lectures by eminent scientists, presentations by young researchers, post-graduate dissertation presentations and Children Science Congress. Exhibition for School and College levels and indigenous works also ran in parallel with the technical sessions.
